Terms of use

TrackLoupe is free to use. These terms explain what you can expect from it and what it cannot promise.

The service

TrackLoupe offers tools to view and work with GPS files, such as GPX, KML and KMZ files. The tools run in your browser and need no account. By using the site, you accept these terms.

Use the results with care

The tools are offered as they are. We work to make them correct, and we test them with real files, but a track, a statistic or a conversion can contain mistakes. Files can also hold errors that the tools pass on. Check any result that matters to you before you rely on it.

Never use TrackLoupe to navigate, to plan a route where a mistake could put someone at risk, or for any other use where safety depends on the result. Use proper navigation equipment and official maps instead.

Your files

Your files stay on your device, as the privacy policy explains, so we never receive or keep them. You are responsible for the files you open and for what you do with the results, including sharing them. Only use files you have the right to use.

Fair use of the site

Do not try to disrupt the site, to get around its security, or to load it with automated requests at a volume no person would make.

Services from other providers

The optional base map of the viewer comes from OpenFreeMap, with map data © OpenStreetMap contributors. When you turn it on, the terms of OpenFreeMap apply to those map images. The credits page lists the software the site uses and its licenses.

Our content

The text, design and code of TrackLoupe belong to its provider, apart from the parts listed on the credits page. You may link to any page and quote short passages with a link back.

Liability

As far as the law allows, the provider is not liable for losses that come from using the site or its results, such as lost data, wrong statistics or a wrong conversion. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, and nothing takes away the rights you have as a consumer.

Changes

We can change the tools, add or remove features, and change these terms. When the terms change, the date at the top changes too.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection that the law of that country gives you.
